
Northern Cardinal - Cardinalis cardinalis
This bird has a reputation. She keeps attacking the side mirror on my stepfather's truck. She sees the "other bird" in the reflection of the mirror and apparently doesn't like her. Here she is taking a break in a nearby tree.
Habitat: Rural yard

The Northern Cardinal is a North American bird in the genus "Cardinalis"; it is also known colloquially as the redbird or common cardinal. It can be found in southern Canada, through the eastern United States from Maine to Texas and south through Mexico. It is found in woodlands, gardens, shrublands, and swamps.
