    1. Grrr. I was leaning towards Zanclognatha jacchusalis, but for no particular reason. I hope it comes back tonight because it seems that a major difference between the two species is size. I remember it being small-ish, but I am not 100% sure. Posted one month ago
      1. It's too bad it's not on your cloth, because if it was, there's a nice measurement trick. It's common sense, so perhaps you already do this...

        Since a cloth magnified shows a repeating weave pattern, and if you manage to measure a single weave's length, you can then reason back the size of any subject on it by just counting the amount of weaves. The nice thing is of course that you need zero measurement in the field.

        Not sure if "weave" is the right word, but you get the idea.
