  1. Hi all
Currently I'm using the simple program of canon for all my pics. I've heard, that Lightroom should be very efficient and not too difficult;-). I've got an old PC - no Mac. Which version do I have to buy? Is it easy to install even for a computer dummie like me;-)?

    Thank's for your help.

  2. I am using lightroom and really, it is quite fantastic and very simple to use and install. I just upgraded to Creative Cloud so get Photoshop as well. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. However, with an old PC you may be best to get Lightroom 5 as the latest version 6 only supports 64bit operating systems.
I am sure you will get some great advise here as many people use Lightroom. I am most certainly not tech savvy but Lightroom is the best move I ever made (Thank you Ferdy!!!! ;) )

  3. Lightroom is close to being a default for many photographers, so definitely a great choice. I believe there are two ways to buy it:

    - As a stand-alone product. So you buy it online, download it, and then it is forever yours.
    - As a subscription. The subscription Claire mentions brings you both Lightroom and Photoshop at a reasonable price. However, you have to keep paying every month. It stops working when you stop paying.

I'll leave it to you which one you prefer. Once you have it, we can help you out in getting started.

  4. Here is the cheap option! Get a second hand or new version 4 on ebay. it does everything you need, no need to pay the expensive subscription, which comes to 120 USD a year. I can see you are in Europe, it is even more there.
I have version 4.5 which does everything I need, got a NEW DVD on ebay for £60 when I was still in France.
I yet have to see a good reason to upgrade, all you get is less speed and more fluff.

  6. If you don't want to spend any money on expensive products such as lightroom, but still want lightroom, you can actually download older legacy versions of lightroom off of the adobe website for free. They are missing a lot of advanced features, but there is still more than enough to get high quality photos out of it. Replied 3 years ago
  7. That's a great tip, Antonio, perhaps also share the actual link? Replied 3 years ago
  8. Yes here is a link:
    https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=113&platform=Macintosh
If you are using a windows computer, then change the Macintosh word in that link to Windows.

  9. Muchisimas gracias Antonio!
If you follow Antonio's link you can go up one and then to 'other downloads and it gets even better!!!
I can upgrade my PS CS4 for free!!!
But... very important... make sure the region stays 'US'
if you just click a link upwards the free Lightroom vanishes, as soon as the /la/ get behind adobe nothing works.
So you have to say you are in the US.
