I didn't know about the chest patch, I live I learn:) Wonderful shot.
I am hoping on snowfall here as well, always an inspiring seasonal aspect.
Btw. did you see the geotag thing on the right? You can assign a location to your photo's so other people can see where you shot it. Not everybody tags their images, but it's fun and informative.
For some species, I would rather not geotag. Whitetail Deer photography is extremely competitive here in the US, and it is best to keep certain locations "undisclosed".
The deer are sensitive and shy, and will not withstand any more than a few photographers in the area; any more than that, and they stay hidden in the brush all day, and only come out at night.
Thank you for explaining why you do not want to share their specific location.
Tom, you are right. If they are that shy it is very good of you to think about the animals as only you can estimate the effects on the poluation you know. Keep it hidden and please share them with me on JungleDragon. These deer have a bit of the stuff of legends rubbed on them. Mythical.

Wow, Ludo . . . it sounds like you appreciate Whitetail Deer as much as I do!
They are splendid creatures, and I wait all year for the November rut (breeding season), when they forget their usual caution for a couple weeks, and allow themselves to be effectively photographed!

Notice the white chest patch underneath the white throat patch. This is a rather rare, unusual feature on Whitetail Deer.
