The green shield bug is a shield bug of the family Pentatomidae. It may also be referred to as a green stink bug, particularly outside of Britain, and is not to be confused with the larger North American stink bug, ''Acrosternum hilare''. This shield bug is a medium-green colour above without any substantial markings. This is a very common shield bug in Britain, being found in many habitats, including gardens.
