Hi FraJH, an explanation of why the identification worked this way in this case:
- The Peking duck is in fact a Mallard duck in its basis.
- There is a seperate Wikipedia page for Peking duck, but it's not a specie page. Therefore, it cannot be linked to JungleDragon.
So in this case, a limitation in both Wikipedia and Jungledragon has led to this identification, which is mostly right, but not perfect.
You're welcome. A little more explanation of what exactly a specie page is in Wikipedia. There are two conditions:
- The taxonomy block that you see to the right on specie pages needs to be available.
- Within that block, there must be a binomial or trinomial name.
When those conditions are met, JungleDragon should be able to read the information from Wikipedia. The second condition concerns how specific an identification is. For example "Bear" is not a specie, it is a family of species, whilst "Brown Bear" is correct, as that is a specie.
I hope this helps. Thanks for all the identifications you do for JungleDragon!
