Because they are very common I think the beauty of these birds is underestimated. Just look at the shiny 'metallic' green on the male or the blue patch on the female.
I fully agree, Joost. It is hard to appreciate the beauty of something you see so commonly. If one is to imagine to see this duck for the first time, one would be stunned by its beauty. I think the same is true for male peacocks. They are exceptionally beautiful.
